A database is a collection of information organized for easy retrieval, with the information usually behind a paywall. The Library provides NMH students and staff access to over 80 databases.
Library Databases might organize:
The information in the databases might be available in multiple ones, but sometimes databases have original content or are only provided for resources. Think of it as Netflix, Hulu, Max, etc. Each works very similarly and has some of the same content, but then there are shows/movies/documentaries only available on one platform.
A good place to find scholarly articles for a variety of disciplines.
JSTOR provides access to the highest-quality academic scholarly journals, books, images, and primary sources in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.
Search the most recent U.S. news content, as well as archives which stretch back into the 1980s featuring newspapers, newswires, blogs, and news sites in active full-text format.
Students and staff do NOT need to pay for resources for your classes. If you have found an article or report you would like for your research project but you cannot access due to a paywall, please submit the Interlibrary Loan Request--Article form below. We will email you once the article or report is available. Please allow up to one week for inquiries.
