Mission Statement

Welcome to the Northfield Mount Hermon Archives!

Mission Statement:

The NMH Archives collects, preserves, promotes and makes accessible an array of primary sources such as historical documents, photographs, and publications of or about the school and its founder, D.L. Moody.

In addition, The NMH Archives holds some professional and personal papers of former faculty and alumni.

Other collections of artistic and historical value are also collected and maintained for use in the classroom.

Find

The NMH Archives are located downstairs in Schauffler Library. You can take the stairs or the elevator down one level and take a right. If you've reached the water fountain, simply turn around.

The NMH Archives are open to students, staff, faculty, and NMH community members from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm by appointment.

Access

Because of the rare, historical, and fragile nature of the materials in the NMH Archives, access is restricted and may only be granted with permission by archives staff.

Reference questions and appointment requests may be addressed to Peter Weis '78, NMH school archivist.

Students may fill out the student request form.
