The Schauffler Library provides a large number of databases for your research needs. Let's talk about how to effectively search the databases to find what you need.
There are two things to think about before you begin:
- What kind of source do you need? Are you looking for a primary source, or would you best be served with a secondary source?
- Some databases specialize in primary sources, while some are better with secondary sources.
- What subject are you researching and which database might make the most sense for your research?
- Take some time to look at the list of databases (either via the A-Z list linked above, or via an appropriate class or subject research guide!) and get to know which databases cover what. This will help tremendously as you narrow down potential places to search.
